Voicemail Greetings
There are three types of greetings available in the LSUS voicemail system. Only one of these greetings may be active at any given time.
- Personal greeting - A personalized message from you containing whatever information you want to include
- Extended absence greeting - A temporary secondary greeting which can be used for extended absences like holidays
- System-generated greeting - A template message generated by the system which will be in this format, "<Name> is not available. Please record your message after the tone. When you have finished your may hang up or press 1 for more options." If you have not recorded your name, the system will attempt to pronounce it for you.
Setting your voicemail greetings
Connecting to the voicemail system
- Log in to the voicemail telephone user interface (TUI) by dialing 5006 from your desk phone. If you are off campus you can dial 318-797-5006 to reach the voicemail system then enter your mailbox number (which is most likely your 4-digit extension) at the prompt.
- Enter your TUI password. If you do not remember your TUI password, please open a ticket.
Setting your personal greeting
- Press 2 to Record Greetings
- Press 8 to Record your Personal Greeting
- Press 2 to change your Personal Greeting. Press # when finished.
Setting your extended absence greeting
- Press 2 to Record Greetings
- Press 7 to Record Extended Absence Greeting
- Press 2 to record your Extended Absence Greeting. Press # when finished.
Activating your extended absence greeting
- Press 3 to Review Current Availability and Location
- Press 7 to Change your location to Extended Absence
- Press 1 to allow callers to leave messages OR Press 2 to disallow callers from leaving messages.
- Press 1 to allow callers to skip greeting OR Press 2 to disallow callers from skipping the recorded greeting.
Setting a recorded name for your system-generated greeting
- Press 2 to Record Greetings
- Press 9 to Record Your Name Greeting.
- Press 2 to record your name. Press # when finished.
